Jige
The Hermès Jige was officially introduced to the public in 1975. Its story began when Jean Guerrand, son-in-law of Émile Hermès, created the bag as a wedding gift within the family. Its name comes from Guerrand’s initials.
Clean lines and an envelope-style silhouette make the Hermès Jige a versatile choice for both day and evening wear. The flap is secured with a leather strap that slides into the signature H-tab.
The Hermès Jige Clutch comes in different materials. In canvas with Swift leather trim, it’s casual and perfect for daytime wear. In classic Hermès leathers like Evercolor or Taurillon Clemence it’s polished and professional. Exotic versions like lizard or crocodile take the Jige to a glamorous level.
Hermès has released the Jige in several forms: the Jige Mini with a slim strap for crossbody, classic PM and GM, and the Hermès Jige Elan Clutch, a more elongated design available in 29 cm and 33 cm sizes. The most popular model is the Jige Elan 29.
